Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Paper Sheets Academy. By starting an assessment or beginning a subscription, you agree to them. Plain English where possible. Where law requires specifics, we have written them out.
1. Who we are
Paper Sheets Academy ("we", "us") provides a paper-based mathematics curriculum delivered by email and post, currently serving subscribers in Canada and the United States. Contact: admin@papersheets.academy.
2. The service
We send weekly worksheets to the email address you provide. Children complete the worksheets at home. You return photographs of the completed sheets. A person reads what was returned and shapes the worksheets that arrive the following week.
Worksheets are dispatched to the email address on file at the time of dispatch. Delivery to that address constitutes delivery of the service for the relevant week. You are responsible for ensuring the address is correct and that our email is not filtered as spam.
We do not promise specific learning outcomes, grades, or improvements on standardized tests. We promise the worksheets, the marking, and the weekly adaptation.
3. Subscription, billing, and currency
- The subscription price is the amount displayed at checkout (currently $109 USD per month), billed monthly. By providing a payment method and completing checkout, you expressly authorize us to charge that method the displayed amount (plus applicable sales tax) on a recurring monthly basis on the same calendar day each month, beginning on the date you sign up and continuing until you cancel.
- From time to time we may offer introductory pricing, promotional discounts, or other limited-time offers (for example, a discounted first month). Any such offer will be disclosed at checkout, applies only as described there, and converts to the standard recurring price at the end of the offer period.
- The subscription is recurring and continues until canceled. There is no fixed term.
- You can cancel at any time by emailing us or replying to any email or letter we send you. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current paid period. Access continues until then. We will send a written cancellation confirmation to your email address within 2 business days; that confirmation establishes the effective cancellation date.
- If a scheduled payment fails, we will retry up to two more times over the following five business days. If all attempts fail, we may suspend service until the outstanding balance is settled. See our Refund Policy for more detail.
- If we change the price for new sign-ups in the future, your existing subscription continues at the price you signed up at unless we give you at least 30 days' notice of a change.
- All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number. Charges will appear on your statement as PAPER SHEETS ACADEMY or a truncated variant thereof.
4. Refunds
See our Refund Policy for the full terms. In short: we do not pro-rate partial months, but you can cancel any time and you will not be charged again.
5. Age, parental responsibility, and use by minors
This service is designed for children, but it is purchased, operated, and supervised by an adult. Please read this section carefully.
- You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority in your province or state of residence, whichever is higher) to create an account, enter payment details, or submit photographs of completed work. Anyone under that age must not use the checkout, the billing email, or any account function.
- The child does not have an account. The service is for use by minors only under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Children do not log in, do not communicate with us directly, and do not receive billing or marketing email from us. All correspondence — email, post, billing, and support — is with the adult account holder.
- The parent or legal guardian is solely responsible for: supervising the child's use of the worksheets; deciding whether the worksheet content is appropriate for the child's age and ability; and ensuring that any photograph of completed work the parent submits to us does not include identifying information about the child beyond what we ask for (first name and grade level).
- By starting a subscription, you confirm that (i) you are at least 18, (ii) you are the parent or legal guardian of the child enrolled, and (iii) you consent on the child's behalf to the limited collection and use of information described in our Privacy Policy, including the COPPA-specific provisions for children under 13.
6. What you can and can't do with the worksheets
- You may print, mark up, photograph, and share with the child you signed up for. Family use is fine.
- You may not redistribute the worksheets, share them with other households, post them online, or use them commercially (e.g. as a tutor or in a school setting) without a separate license from us.
- The curriculum, layout, and problem text are our copyright.
7. Acceptable use
Don't do anything illegal with the service, attempt to break it, scrape it, or use it to harass anyone. We may suspend or end your subscription if you do.
8. Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under any applicable consumer protection law.
9. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, where we are established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. This does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections under the law of the Canadian province or US state in which you reside.
Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, except where the consumer protection law of your province or state of residence gives you a non-waivable right to bring a claim locally.
